So when you think about the fireplace insert when you think about new fireplace construction, you have possibilities that literally will never end. I have written reports, DIYs, articles and plenty of blog posts about most of the possibilities. Its hard not to mention such unique areas as in the bathroom, bedroom, office, and dining room. Those are rooms that traditionally dont have fireplaces even though a more contemporary trend has been to build certain types in these rooms. But, we can stretch our imaginations for some fireplace ideas that transcend even those.
9. Place a Mirror in Your Firebox to Reflect Light - This trick is one of my favorites and it is super easy. Find a mirror about the same size as the back of your firebox. This can be framed or unframed, your choice. Simply lean the mirror up against the back of your firebox and light your fireplace candelabra candles. The mirror will reflect the light from the candles and give the illusion of twice as many candles. It is a really beautiful effect. 10. Place Glass Beads Under Your Fireplace Candelabra - This trick is also simple, but has a dramatic effect. Find some glass beads at your local craft store that are the same color as your home decor. You can also use clear glass beads for a versatile option. Fill a tray with the beads and place under your fireplace candelabra. Scatter a few beads around the tray to hide the edges of the tray. The beads will reflect the light from your candles into millions of flickering points of interest. Be creative with this. Use colored beads for a special holiday, or use red beads for a romantic evening. The possibilities are limitless. These ideas are meant to give you a taste of the creativeness you can use to decorate your fireplace. Have some fun brain-storming and thinking up new ways to use your fireplace candelabra. Remember to be safe and remove your flammable decorations before lighting your candles.
Or spruce up your firebox and give it a little flare! Remove your fireplace screen, andirons and fireplace grate and replace them with beautiful fireplace candelabra. It sits right inside your fireplace where the fireplace grate normally sits. You can light the candles for a romantic evening glow without the heat of a full fire, or just leave them unlit and enjoy the beauty of the candelabra on its own. Decorate your mantel with some freshly picked spring flowers, like tulips or daffodils. Make it simple. You only need a few flowers carefully arranged in a nice glass vase to make a fresh and bold statement. Enjoy your fireplace year round, not just during the winter. It is a beautiful addition to your home that should not be forgotten! Have fun making your fireplace an inviting area to gather around, even without a roaring fire. Think outside the "fire"box!
