Imagine further the romantic ambiance with the special person you love sitting close the dancing flames and watching them together from a garden bench or swing. Outdoor firepits are a very stylish and convenient way to create such an atmosphere for such an experience that can be repeated as many times as weather will permit. If you enjoy camping and roasting hotdogs and marshmallows over the camp fire, this doesnt have to replace such trips, but allows you to have many of the benefits you love from camping conveniently right in your own back yard with your outdoor firepit.
Buying a new copper firepit can be a great addition to any deck or backyard. Copper is a beautiful metal, and its long lasting and durable. Copper wont rust or corrode, unlike other metals, so your firepit will last for years and still look as good as the day you bought it. Another nice thing about copper is that it also conducts heat very well, so you will have a warm fire while burning less wood. Purchasing a firepit that is made of copper can be a very smart thing to do. Once you bring home your new copper firepit, youre going to want to think about accessories. One thing that is a very good idea is to buy a screen to place on top. This will help prevent hot ashes and burning embers from leaving the pit. Some firepits come with a screen, others may not so if yours doesnt have one you will want to think about purchasing one. You might also want to consider purchasing a lid to help put the fire out quicker at the end of the night.
Its a bit tricky to get the heavy slabs in an exact circle with a consistent height but its best to prop them up and backfill with the gravel so that each stone is buried 150mm leaving a 450mm deep pit. The top of the granite should be 200mm above the surrounding ground level to allow for the concrete slab and paving. You could cut each stone lengthwise along one edge to make them fit flush with each other but it isnt necessary. The bottom of the pit was then paved to make shovelling out the ashes easier.
Most people find it relaxing and satisfying to sit in front of a the flames of a fire. No wonder we find so many homes with fireplaces. Unfortunately they have to work during the day and usually they time they have to spend outside is in the evening when it often is dark. Outdoor firepits make such a situation something to look forward to and provide a savings in electrical lighting costs.
